Ilana Strom Harkavy was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1988. Her love for music began at age 4 when she started piano lessons. With inspiration ranging from Ella Fitzgerald to Ace of Base, Ilana began to sing and write extensively. From grade school onward, Ilana trained and performed in select jazz, classical, and musical theatre ensembles. In 2002, she studied pop and jazz for 5 years under top vocal coach Kelly Hargett in Seattle.

Ilana’s recording career began in Dark Pop Studios in 2008 after her friend John Renfrow & Dan Bartz of the Seattle-based trip-hop group Keep the Secrets, invited her into the studio. One of her tracks with KTS, “I Need More”, received mass support on Myspace, launching thousands of fans worldwide. In late 2008, Ilana was mentored by Armada Music’s top singer/songwriter Jaren Cerf in Los Angeles. Shortly after, Ilana met Adam Tas from Wales, and the duo formed the progressive group Gemini’s Edge, releasing their first single, “Strange Love” on Dissident Music (Miami, FL). “Strange Love” was featured on various radio shows, and premiered at the Miami Winter Music Conference in Spring 2009 by Noel Sanger & Mike Harrington, properly launching Ilana’s career into dance music.

In January 2009, while studying abroad in London, Ilana interned for Global Radio UK and was featured on BBC1 for winning an improv singing competition with her song "Time & A Place". During this time, Ilana met top German DJ and trance producer Woody Van Eyden of The Music and Artist Agency, responsible for launching some prominent careers, including ATB, Chriss Ortega, and Alex M.O.R.P.H. During her travels in Europe, she collaborated with top Swedish producer Airbase. The duo have an album track set for release in late 2010 on Intuition Records (Netherlands). 

In June 2010, Ilana recorded vocals for the Nature One Festival anthem, the largest electronic music festival in Europe! The song was featured in television commercials and was played by some of the world’s top DJs, including Armin Van Buuren, Paul Van Dyk, and ATB. 

Ilana is a dynamic young woman. She has written for jazz, rock, house, trance, pop, country and many other genres! She has an honors degree—a Bachelors in Communications and Minor in Music Business from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. Ilana studied under some of the most prominent in the industry, including Professor John Hartman, whom managed acts such as The Eagles and Sunny and Cher. She has also worked alongside Itay Steinberg of Pakotec Productions and Donny Marrow of Disk Eye Productions, whom both have elite cliental ranging from Sony to Disney. And within the dance industry, performed alongside some of the top Djs in the world including Sean Tyas and Claudia Cazacu.

As now a part of JCM Artists, Ilana has countless songs in the works, and various releases on various dance & pop labels. AND most recently her newest track with Gemini's Edge "SAVE YOU" has gained support from Armin Van Buuren, Markus Schulz, and Andy Moor, and was featured two weeks in a row on ASOT, GDJB, and Moor Music! With her new single "When You Say" with Chriss Ortega and Adam Tas, she's recieved support from the likes of Paul Van Dyk as well. So look out for this little redhead. She’s sure to amaze you!
